As the blankets of snow fall on the ground, I cuddle close to the warmth of my monitor.

Children's Portraiture ++ Baby Hayden

It seems like babies are popping up out of nowhere these days and filling the frame of my camera just as fast. I love it! I don't know if it is because I never really grew or the fact that I can't wait to have children of my own, but I feel mysteriously drawn to this typically difficult feat.

It's about running and playing and discovering new things; like the first time a child comes to the realization that they have a shadow or even toes. First steps, sitting up, booking it from mom and dad or sitting in their lap reading one. These first moments of forming relationships and features capture my attention and imagination, and so I capture them in return.

Portraits of Baby Chloe ++

The weekend before last I got to do something that I love doing, hanging out with a new family and photographing their child. It was such a blast to work with Sandy and her Husband Shawn as we moved through their stunning home photographing their beautiful daughter Chloe.

I was thrilled to see what we had to work with when I arrived. Sandy is such a great decorator and with Shawn's advice as an art director they had come up with outfits, props and locations in the house that flowed perfectly together.

I spent roughly 2 hours with the Brady family and as I was digging through the images before leaving I felt a sure sense of accomplishment and pride in the work we had created.

I am so thankful that I get to call this work.
